Lockdown Fundraising

Since the outbreak of coronavirus and the start of the lockdown, demand for our Helpline has soared by a staggering 73%. Coronavirus has ripped away the structure and support than enables people to fight their eating disorders leaving them feeling anxious and alone.

At the same time, the cancellation of hundreds of fundraising activities like races, skydives, bake sales and quiz nights is set to leave us hundreds of thousands of pounds short. We fear a drop in income of at least 30% – a significant risk to our future.

This is the toughest challenge Beat has ever faced. Eating disorders thrive in isolation. And in isolation, the eating disorder voice is louder and stronger than ever before. We need you to help us shout louder than that voice and help ensure no one with an eating disorder faces this time alone. Join us and fundraise for our Helpline services so we can continue to support people through this crisis.

We may be in lockdown but our ideas below will help you find the activity that is right for you and your family – whilst sticking to the governments guidelines of course!

If you have any questions, please get in contact with Community Fundraising Officers Emily and Lara by emailing fundraising@beateatingdisorders.org.uk. You can also get started by setting up a JustGiving page but remember to follow the Government’s guidelines and our Fundraising Guidelines!
