Dr Cathy Troupp

Cathy Troupp is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with 25 years’ experience working with young people with eating disorders and their families. She has worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) at Royal Free Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and CNWL, and in 2017-18 was one of the leaders of the first HEE funded National Training in Community Eating Disorders. She also worked concurrently at the Anna Freud Centre in Mentalization Based Treatment. In 2020 she moved to work in the Gender Identity Development Service at the Tavistock Clinic. She subsequently transitioned into the humanitarian sector via the British Red Cross, and recently took up the post of Clinical Lead at the Refugee Council. Cathy’s PhD is about the meaning that eating disorders hold for young people and families, and she still works one day a week in CNWL young people’s eating disorders service, and has a small private practice. Cathy writes, supervises, teaches and enjoys working in services to develop teams and practice
