Introduction
Here at Beat we know that our communications have a real impact. Whether it is raising awareness about eating disorders, providing positive routes to recovery or just being a reliable source in the social media community, we are there.
We are reaching out to more people through our existing social media channels, and we are expanding into new platforms. We are especially interested in developing our user generated content (UGC) with video.
The role
As part of our growth, we are excited to be looking for Content Creators to join the team. Our Content Creator team will respond to campaigns and questions by filming short video answers, using our VideoAsk software. The Content Creator role is a one-year remote volunteer agreement with an optionto extend. We envisage that the Content Creators will respond to 8-12 questions a year, with short video answers recorded on a smart phone. This expectation will be discussed prior to appointment and is flexible.
The person
You will have a good understanding of social media and be confident when speaking on video. You may have experience or knowledge of eating disorders and be passionate about spreading a positive message to our supporters. You will support our values and want to develop yourself whilst volunteering at Beat, as a Content Creator. Our cause touches people of every background. LGBTQ+ people. Disabled people. People of every age, ethnicity, gender, and class. We actively welcome applications from, and are committed to recruiting, retaining, and promoting a diverse mix of individuals who are representative of the communities we serve.
The benefits
The Content Creators will be given training to develop audio/visual and social media communication skills and will gain free entry at our workshop events and will have access to the supervision sessions we run. Content Creators will gain the experience of working for a UK wide charity in a communications team. On completion of the one year role a Content Creator can gain a character reference from us.
