Join Dr Heike Bartel and expert speakers for a virtual workshop exploring the relationship between social media, eating disorders, and online safety. The workshop centres lived experience and looks at how online content can both negatively and positively impact individuals, particularly those who are more vulnerable.
The workshop will cover the Online Safety Act and wider policy context, introduce the Empowering Recovery project, and share practical, strengths-based approaches that support recovery, safer online engagement, and positive use of social media.
Overall, the session aims to equip attendees with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to navigate online spaces more safely, responsibly, and with greater awareness of the potential benefits as well as the risks.
