Fast and flat, the Edinburgh Marathon course is ideal if it’s your first marathon or you are looking for a PB. This increasingly popular route takes in some of Edinburgh’s most historic and iconic landmarks, as well as picturesque views along the East Lothian coastline.

How can I take part?

Our charity place applications are now open! Send in your application by clicking the link below, and one of our Community Fundraising Officers will get back to you as soon as possible.

Alternatively, if you've purchased your own place in the Edinburgh Marathon, we’d love for you to join Team Beat. There’s no minimum fundraising target; we simply ask that you raise as much as you can.

If you have personal experience of an eating disorder or current health issues, you should not take part in the Edinburgh Marathon if doing so could put your health and wellbeing in jeopardy. Successful applicants who have had any experience of an eating disorder may be required to provide a doctor’s certificate stating that they have a suitable level of fitness to participate. We will also ask that you provide us with the contact details of someone we can speak to who can confirm that there are no known reasons which render you unable to participate safely in the event.

Apply for a charity place!

Registration is now open! Apply for a place on Beat’s charity team for the Edinburgh Marathon.

I have my own place!

If you have bought your place directly through the Edinburgh Marathon Festival organisers, we'd love for you to join Team Beat!
