Edinburgh Half Marathon

Event date: Sunday 26th May 2024

Distance: Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

Location: Edinburgh

Fast and flat, the Edinburgh Half Marathon follows the marathon course and is ideal if it’s your first half marathon or you are looking for a PB. This increasingly popular route takes in some of Edinburgh’s most historic and iconic landmarks, as well as picturesque views along the East Lothian coastline.

Join Team Beat at the start line and help change the lives of people affected by eating disorders. Our friendly team will be there to support you every step of the way!

How can I take part?

Our applications are now closed for our charity places, but if you've purchased your own place in the half marathon, we’d love for you to join Team Beat. There’s no minimum fundraising target; we simply ask that you raise as much as you can.

If you have personal experience of an eating disorder or current health issues, you should not take part in the Edinburgh Half Marathon if doing so could put your health and wellbeing in jeopardy. Successful applicants who have had any experience of an eating disorder may be required to provide a doctor’s certificate stating they have a suitable level of fitness to participate

I have my own place

If you have bought your place directly through the Edinburgh Marathon Festival organisers, we'd love for you to join Team Beat!

Why run for Beat?

Health and Wellbeing

Any half marathon is an extremely demanding physical challenge. We strongly suggest that you consult your doctor or clinician before taking part in this event, especially if you have a current or previous medical condition including any experience of an eating disorder.
