The UKRI Mental Health Platform want to identify the research questions and issues that matter most to people with lived experience of severe mental illness (SMI).
Your views will help inform future mental health research priorities and funding.
The survey is being carried out by the UKRI Mental Health Platform, a research programme funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
For this consultation, SMI means mental health conditions or experiences that have had a major or lasting impact on someone’s everyday life. This might affect their relationships, education, work, physical health, independence, safety or the ability to do the things that matter to them.
To take part, you do not need to have a particular diagnosis or to describe yourself as having a “severe mental illness”, but you should consider yourself to have experience of SMI. They also want to hear from people who care for or support someone with these experiences.
You don’t need to be a researcher or know anything about research to take part. They simply want to hear what matters to you based on your experiences of SMI, and what you think researchers should be looking into.
Complete the online survey and tell us what questions you think mental health research should be answering.
You don’t need any research knowledge or experience to take part. The survey takes your views and experiences and uses them to help identify research priorities.
