Walk & Talk Lancashire

25/02/2018 11.30 -

Join Beat for a walk in the beautiful Lancashire countryside, with stunning views of Pendle Hill situated in the North West.

Walk & Talk North West is a wonderful opportunity to raise vital funds for Beat’s support services, meet new friends, and combat the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding eating disorders.

Meet us at Barley Village Hall (Cross Lane, Barley, Burnley BB12 9JU) at 11am ready to start the walk at 11.30am.

We will be walking through the beautiful Lancashire countryside, starting in the village of Barley, making our way through the footpaths that surround Pendle Hill and finishing the walk back in the village for light refreshments.

The walk isn’t difficult, but we do recommend wearing wellies as it can be muddy in parts. The walk is mostly flat, with a slight gradient in one part. It will roughly be between 1 and a half to 2 hours, with the distance being 5km (3.1miles) from start to finish.

Entry is just £5 and includes a Beat T-shirt and fundraising pack.

The aim of Walk & Talk North West is to raise £1,100. That’s enough to fund Beat’s Helpline services for one day. Every day, we help an average of 68 people! We’re inviting walkers to help us reach our fundraising target of £1,100 by asking friends and family for sponsorship. If every walker can raise £50 then we can reach our target easily, and help change the lives of more people affected by these stigmatised mental illnesses.

“Our walk was a way of not only raising money but of walking away from eating disorders… I wanted to fundraise for Beat to try and ensure that everyone has access to the help and support they need” – Jess, Beat fundraiser 2017

Every penny raised from Walk & Talk North West will support Beat’s vision: to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders.

Please note that under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.

We hope to see you there!

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact the North West Regional Officer, Hayley, at h.wilkinson@beateatingdisorders.org.uk.

* Please note, you will not be able to claim gift aid on the entry fee.
