Spotting the Signs

Intended audience

Secondary school professionals, including school nurses and school counsellors  

Learning outcomes

  • An awareness of the three major eating disorders and the impact they can have on day to day life
  • An understanding of the risk factors associated with eating disorders and the ability to spot the early signs
  • How to best support pupils who might be affected by eating disorders and make an effective referral
  • Awareness of services available, including local eating disorders services and Beat’s services

Extras

Delegates who attend this course received a comprehensive resource pack which includes a professionally designed and printed workbook.  Delegates also receive a USB with resources that can be used in PSHE lessons and shared with other staff – this includes ambassador videos and Beat resources.  Alongside this, delegates have lifelong access to our specialist professional helpline where they can gain extra support and coaching from a clinician.
