The world’s biggest and best half marathon is back on Sunday 8th September 2024 and we’d love to have you on our team. This city to sea route begins in Newcastle city centre and finishes at the stunning South Shields coast. Famous for its warm North East welcome and unbeatable atmosphere, this run is one you don’t want to miss.

Join Team Beat at the start line and help change the lives of people affected by eating disorders. Our friendly team will be there to support you every step of the way.

If you have personal experience of an eating disorder or current health issues, you should not take part in the Great North Run if doing so could put your health and wellbeing in jeopardy. Successful applicants who have had any experience of an eating disorder may be required to provide a doctor’s certificate stating they have a suitable level of fitness to participate.

Why run for Beat?

Your fundraising will support our Helpline services; anyone who is worried about themselves or a loved one can contact our Helpline 365 days a year, so that no one has to face an eating disorder alone.
