Crafting can be a great way to unwind, practice mindfulness and to feel part of a community of support and hope for those affected by eating disorders which is so important at Christmas time.
Get crafty this Christmas and help us raise funds so that our helplines can remain open 365 days a year including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Sell your creations and donate the proceeds to Beat, or give a thoughtful homemade gift to your loved one alongside a donation. Why not host your own craft workshop, invite friends and family over to teach them how to create a Christmas decoration?
Let others know why you are raising money for Beat and share your story to help us raise awareness and vital funds this December.
Molly’s crafting for Beat
"Last year was a seriously difficult time in my life, dealing with illness and issues in the family, struggling with university work and not knowing what to eat, if anything.
While I was in hospital things began to get better and I was encouraged to do things that would help me to recover and come out of the other side a brighter, better version of myself. And although I still have my struggles, I’m getting there.
I began getting back to doing things that I used to love, painting, sewing and just general crafting. This is where my business “Molly Bee” was born. Molly Bee is a place where my creativity thrives, I love making things and now it’s brilliant that other people get to enjoy my work as well! One of the most important facts about my business is that a portion of each sale goes towards Beat,
Beat is a hugely important charity in my life and on some of my darkest days they have given me support and guidance. They continue to support thousands of people each year in a similar situation to me. I hope that my donations will help Beat continue their vital work. "
