Women’s experiences of binge eating

What is the purpose of this research?

The particular study aims at understanding how women experience and make sense of their emotions before, during and after binge eating.

Who can take part?

Females aged between 18 and 65 living in the UK who:

  • Have been diagnosed with any eating disorder.
  • Have had experiences of binge eating (large amounts of food and a feeling of loss of control) at least once a month for at least three months, at any time in the last five years.
  • Have been in therapy for at least one year.
  • Feel well established in their recovery.

What does the study involve?

The study involves answering questions around emotions before, during and after binge eating in a face-to-face or Skype interview of 60-90 minutes.
