Reflective functioning in people experiencing anorexia or bulimia

What is the purpose of the research?

The purpose of this research is to understand the psychological characteristics involved in Eating Disorders. In particular, we intend to look at Reflective Functioning in people with eating disorders. Reflective Functioning is the ability to think about yourself and about other people. We hope that better understanding of this area will help us design better treatment for these disorders.

Who can take part? 

Anyone who has lived experience with Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa is welcome to take part in this research.

What does the study involve? 

If you decided to take part, you will be asked to sign a consent form. You will then be asked to complete some questionnaires and a research worker will interview you using a standard format for the interviews. Interviews will be audio-recorded for research purposes. Testing will take place at the research department of UCL.

Please note that one of the questionnaires in this study will ask you about your current weight.
