Virtual Campaigning

Since the start of the outbreak of the coronavirus and lockdown, demand for our Helpline has soared by a staggering 72%. We’ve also seen an increase in people sadly contacting us in crisis; this has more than doubled.

The reasons people are getting in touch vary, whether it be treatment stopping due to the outbreak, concerns over access to safe foods, anxieties developing as a result of coronavirus, a loved one’s previously managed illness deteriorating and much more. If you or a loved one need support for your eating disorder at this time please visit our Support Services page.

With more people needing help at this time for their eating disorder, now has never been a more important time to campaign to ensure that there are the right services in place.

We’ve suggested a few ideas below of things you can do to help, and of course you may have some even better suggestions.

If you have any questions, please get in contact with the Campaigns Team by emailing campaigning@beateatingdisorders.org.uk.
