Virtual Showstopper Bake Off

As it is harder for us to meet up this year, why not get into the competitive spirit and hold your own virtual bake off but with a twist! As we can’t taste the baked goods, make it a festive cake decorating bake off instead – the ultimate showstopper will win!

This is one for cake decorating and baking enthusiasts; it doesn’t matter if you’re a total novice or a star baker – you can organise a Christmas Showstopper Bake Off with our five easy steps.

How to host your virtual Christmas Showstopper Bake Off

  1. Set a date and time: Set your deadline for entries and ask for everyone to send you a photo of their showstopper, along with their entry donation or you could suggest £5 per entry.
  2. Choose your judge: Who will judge the competition? Maybe a CEO or someone that inspired you to fundraise for Beat? Or you could set up a voting system on social media once you have received all entries.
  3. Download fundraising materials: Our editable poster will help you to drum up more entries, remember the more the merrier! You can also download Beat’s score card ready for your judge on the day.
  4. Spread the word: Use our downloadable poster and share across your social media and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to get creative while raising money for a good cause.
  5. Donate and raise money: Set up a Just Giving page so that it is easy for your bakers to make their entry donation. Remember to include information on how to sign up, the event date, time and suggested entry donation on your page to.

Every pound you raise will ensure that those affected by an eating disorder receive support 365 days a year, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

Top tip: Once the competition is complete you could boost your funds by asking all entrants to share their beautiful cake with their family, friends and neighbours in return for a donation (ensuring current Government guidelines are adhered to).
