We are recruiting parents/carers of young people with an eating disorder.
You are eligible if your child:
- is aged 13-19
- has a diagnosed eating disorder or eating disorder symptoms
- does not have another primary mental health condition
This research is aiming to explore the experiences of parents/carers of young people with eating disorders. We know that parents/carers are expected to support their children with their eating disorder, and that caring for someone who has an eating disorder can be really difficult. We know that emotions are an important part of these experiences, so we want to find out more about how people respond to difficult emotions, both in themselves and their child. It is hoped that the results of this study may help contribute to future interventions for young people with eating disorders and their families.
The study involves completing a one-off set of questionnaires online that will take up to 30 minutes to complete. This will include a range of questions about your child’s eating disorder symptoms, and how you cope with and respond to challenging emotions.
You will also be asked to provide some general demographic information about yourself and your child. We will not collect any identifiable information about you or your child therefore your responses will be anonymous.
As a token of thanks for your participation, you will have the option of entering a prize draw for one of four £50 vouchers.
