We are looking for adult women:
This research aims to contribute to a better understanding of how Black women, who have suffered with anorexia, experience romantic relationships, and therefore better support those seeking help.
After a screening telephone discussion, participation will involve one face-to-face interview with the primary researcher, lasting approximately 60-90 minutes. The interview will take place at a private location of your choice, and you will be given the option to do the interview online rather than face-to-face if you would prefer. You will be asked questions related to your experiences with anorexia and romantic relationship(s). There will also be a brief demographic questionnaire to fill out.
All interviews will be conducted respectfully and in a non-judgemental manner. You will be free to refuse to answer any question and can stop the interview at any time. At the end of the interview, the researcher will provide information regarding sources of support should any difficulties arise for you as a result of discussing your experiences.
By participating in this study, you will be contributing to research which may help enhance practitioners’ understanding of some of the social and emotional difficulties facing Black women with anorexia and thus has the potential to improve services in the long-term. This research may also encourage you to reflect on important aspects related to your relationships and you may find it useful to talk about your experiences.
If you would like to take part in this research, please contact the researcher (Lauren Duncan) by email: lauren.duncan@city.ac.uk
To show appreciation for your time, you will be offered a ÂŁ15 Amazon voucher and all travel expenses to the interview location will be reimbursed.
