Improving transitions between CAMHS and Adult eating disorder services

Posted 22/07/2019

What is the purpose of the research?

The purpose of the research is to find out what factors are helpful during the transition (moving) process from CAMHS (child & adolescent mental health services) to Adult services for eating disorder treatment. We are asking people who have been through this process for their opinions on what is and isn’t helpful. We wish to improve this process of moving services for young people and their families in the future.

Who can take part?

  • Aged 18+
  • Patient who has been OFFERED transition to Adult services from Child services for an eating disorder (now or in past)
  • Parent/carer of a patient who has been offered transition from child to adult services for an eating disorder (now or in past)
  • Fluent in English

What does the study involve?

Eligible participants will be sent, by post, a number of statements (40) related to the transition process to sort into how much they agree or disagree with them. Participants will return a completed grid showing how they sorted the statements.  The task will take about one hour.

As a thank you for your time for taking part you will have the chance to be entered into the prize draw to win a ‘Love to Shop’ voucher (2 x £50).
